Abrocitinib versus Placebo or Dupilumab for Atopic Dermatitis

نویسندگان

چکیده

The oral Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) inhibitor abrocitinib, which reduces interleukin-4 and interleukin-13 signaling, is being investigated for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Data from trials comparing JAK1 inhibitors with monoclonal antibodies, such as dupilumab, that block receptors are limited.

Alopecia areata after dupilumab for atopic dermatitis

AA: alopecia areata AD: atopic dermatitis IL: interleukin Th: T helper INTRODUCTION Dupilumab is the first targeted biologic therapy approved for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD). More than 1,000 adult patient exposures formed the basis of its approval in March 2017 for the treatment of moderate-to-severe AD not well controlled with topical therapies or when other therapies are inadvisab...

Two Phase 3 Trials of Dupilumab versus Placebo in Atopic Dermatitis.

BACKGROUND Dupilumab, a human monoclonal antibody against interleukin-4 receptor alpha, inhibits signaling of interleukin-4 and interleukin-13, type 2 cytokines that may be important drivers of atopic or allergic diseases such as atopic dermatitis. METHODS In two randomized, placebo-controlled, phase 3 trials of identical design (SOLO 1 and SOLO 2), we enrolled adults with moderate-to-severe ...

Dupilumab treatment in adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis.

BACKGROUND Dupilumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody that blocks interleukin-4 and interleukin-13, has shown efficacy in patients with asthma and elevated eosinophil levels. The blockade by dupilumab of these key drivers of type 2 helper T-cell (Th2)-mediated inflammation could help in the treatment of related diseases, including atopic dermatitis. METHODS We performed randomized, double-b...

Atopic dermatitis: allergic dermatitis or neuroimmune dermatitis?*

Advances in knowledge of neurocellulars relations have provided new directions in the understanding and treatment of numerous conditions, including atopic dermatitis. It is known that emotional, physical, chemical or biological stimuli can generate more accentuated responses in atopic patients than in non-atopic individuals; however, the complex network of control covered by these influences, e...

Dupilumab, A Monoclonal Antibody for Atopic Dermatitis: A Review of Current Literature.

Atopic dermatitis results when aberrant barrier function and immune activation occur within the skin. Standard therapies for atopic dermatitis have fallen short, prompting efforts to discover novel therapeutics for this disease. Of these, dupilumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody that inhibits the actions of both IL-4 and IL-13, has shown the greatest promise. Clinical trials of systemic dup...
